1 – Getting Ready Drinks
Of course you’re going to take a bottle or two of something to drink as you’re getting ready! Try sparkling Smirnoff Gold, which has real gold flakes and a hint of cinnamon, and is sublime either on its own or mixed with apple juice. If wine is your tipple, skip your normal 2 for £10 pink plonk in favour of a sparkling rose like Canard Duchene or Lanson Rose Brut.
2 – Primer
If you don’t want to look like a ghost in all those fabulous of you weekend that will be eagerly shared on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook, choose a primer that doesn’t bounce light like Smashbox Photo Finish. Foundation and powder with SPF will also cause flashback, so avoid this for your night out.
3 – Amazing Outfit
You can’t go wrong with a LBD but your hen party outfit should be one that makes you look and feel incredible. This is no ordinary night out so make sure you dress accordingly.
4 – Music
A hen party is all about celebrating the fact that your single mate is moving on to the next phase of her life. Fill your playlist with music from the best moments of your friendship. A good hen party activity is to have guests nominate the tune they most associate with the bride-to-be.
5 – Girl’s Weekend Survival Kit
Pack a kit full of emergency remedies! This includes blister plasters, fizzy vitamins, bottled water, wet wipes, breath mints, nail file, and nail polish remover.
6 – Pics of the Bride-to-Be
As with the music, ask each guest to bring a photo of themselves with the bride. It’s a great way to show your bride-to-be how treasured she is. If you’re organised enough, you could make the album in advance.
7 – Ear Plugs and a Sleep Mask
There are few things more annoying than being kept awake by a snoring roommate, or woken by sunrise when you’ve just go to sleep.
8 – Sunglasses
A classic pair of dark sunglasses hides a multitude of morning-after sins. It’ll help you look chic and pulled together even if you feel anything but.
9 – Phone Charger
Make sure your phone or camera is fully charged so you don’t miss a single photo opportunity!
10 – Tea Bags
Sometimes you just need a cuppa before you can face getting up. Even if your hotel advertises “tea and coffee making facilities”. It is better not to take chances if you’re specific about your tea!
