Butlers with Bums is one of the UK’s busiest naked butler companies, and we’re always on the lookout for new butlers. If you like the idea of being paid to host parties, read on.
You decide which shifts you take, so the work fits around a job, university or the gym. We pay well, we cover your travel, and no two bookings are the same. What we need from you is good grooming, a body you look after and the confidence to walk into a room of strangers and get them laughing. Good manners, reliability and turning up on time matter just as much.
Training course
Nobody is sent out cold. Your first booking is alongside one of our experienced butlers, many of whom have been with us for years, so you learn the job by watching it done well and can ask them anything.
There’s more to do here than butlering. We also run life drawing and cocktail classes, and you can train for either once you’ve found your feet. The more you can do, the more bookings we can offer you and the further you can go with us.

How much will I earn?

A one-hour booking pays a flat £60, a two-hour booking £90 and a three-hour booking £120. Those rates apply within 10 miles of home, and each can carry a bonus of up to £5.
Any hours beyond that are paid at £20 an hour.
Mileage is paid at 30p a mile once a round trip goes over 20 miles from your home postcode.
We can offer openings that other companies can’t.
After you’re fully trained you can choose to take on cocktail classes and life drawing sessions as well, which brings in more work and more pay.

How many bookings can I expect?

It depends on where you live and when you’re free. Most of our butlers are out every weekend, particularly in the busy months, and some fit in several bookings across a weekend.

When and how will I be paid?

By bank transfer, usually 10 to 12 days after the booking.

Do I need a car?

A car helps but isn’t essential. Expect most bookings to be about a 30-minute drive away.

Is training provided?

Yes. If you’re new to this kind of work, we’ll put you on an unpaid training booking with an experienced butler, as near to you as we can manage. Once you’ve completed it successfully, you go onto our system and we start sending you work.

Will I be working solo or with other butlers?

It varies with the booking. After training you’ll do some jobs alone and some alongside other butlers.

Is my bum always on show?

Usually, yes. The standard uniform is an apron, collar, cuffs and bow tie, which leaves your bum on show. Now and then a customer asks for boxers or trousers and shoes instead.

Can I turn down a booking?

Yes. We send job offers by text, and if you can’t do one you simply reply to say you’re unavailable.

Is the work only at weekends?

Mostly. Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest days, with the occasional booking midweek or on a Sunday.

Would I be an employee or self-employed?

Self-employed. You invoice us for each event and look after your own tax and National Insurance.

How much notice will I get for a booking?

Bookings can come in up to 12 months ahead, so keep a diary.

Can I stay at the party after my booking ends?

No, even if the customer asks you to. You’re there to host and to make the event one they remember. Enjoying yourself with the guests is part of the job, but only for the hours you’re booked.
