Corporate Cocktail Classes
If you’ve been handed the job of organising the team social or a client evening, a cocktail class is one of the easier things to get agreement on. A mixologist comes to a space you’ve chosen, brings everything and runs two hours that end in a team competition. Classes are available for groups of 10 or more in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds.
What happens in the two hours
The class opens with a short tutorial on the equipment, so people who’ve never held a shaker aren’t left guessing. Everyone then makes three cocktails of their own. For the last part the group splits into teams and competes to make the best cocktail, and that contest is the reason it works for team building, socials and client events alike.
One professional mixologist leads it, either fully clothed or in butler uniform. Most workplaces will want fully clothed, so say which when you book. Everyone taking part must be 18 or over.
What's supplied and what it costs
The mixologist arrives with:
- all the alcohol and mixers
- all the cocktail-making equipment
- glasses
- decorations
- sundries such as napkins, straws and stirrers
Prices start from £35 per person with a minimum group of 10. The final figure depends on your numbers and location. You provide the space, which can be any private one, such as a private function, a hired room, a rented apartment or a hotel room with the hotel’s permission. A butler can be added from £150 to help serve the cocktails and host the games.

London
London teams are spread across the City, Canary Wharf, the West End and the offices around Shoreditch and King’s Cross, so where you hold it usually comes down to who has to travel least. A hired private room near the office is the simplest choice for an after-work session. For an away day or a client event, a hotel meeting room works if the hotel has agreed to it.
Manchester
In Manchester the main office districts are Spinningfields and the streets around Deansgate and St Peter’s Square, with MediaCity out at Salford Quays. A private function space in the Northern Quarter suits an evening social. If your team is at MediaCity, a hired room or a rented apartment on the Quays saves everyone the trip into town.
Birmingham
Birmingham’s offices cluster in the Colmore business district, at Brindleyplace and around Paradise, all within walking distance of each other. A hotel meeting room near New Street station is practical when colleagues are coming in from other sites, provided the hotel gives permission. For something less formal, look at hiring a private room in the Jewellery Quarter or Digbeth.
Leeds
Leeds is compact, and many of its offices are a short walk from the station, at Wellington Place, on Park Row and around City Square, with Leeds Dock south of the river. An after-work class is therefore easy for most people to reach on foot. A private function space in the centre or a rented apartment near the waterfront would both do, as long as the room is yours alone for the two hours.

Does the mixologist have to wear the butler uniform?
No. The mixologist can be fully clothed. Tell us your preference at the time of booking.
Can we hold the class in a hotel meeting room?
Yes, as long as the hotel has given its permission. Any private space is suitable.
We have apprentices who are 17. Can they take part?
No. Everyone taking part has to be 18 or over.
Do we need to buy any drink or glassware ourselves?
No. The alcohol, mixers, equipment, glasses, decorations and sundries are all supplied.
