Hen Party Cocktail Class Bournemouth
Seven miles of sand is the reason hen groups come to Bournemouth, and the reason nobody wants to be indoors before about four o’clock. The class works best as the hinge of the day: off the beach, showered, and round the table with a shaker while there’s still sun on the balcony.
What you get for the money
- Two hours with a professional mixologist, who’ll come fully clothed or in a butler uniform of apron, collar and cuffs, whichever you ask for.
- Three cocktails per person, each made by the person drinking it.
- Every bottle, mixer, shaker and glass, plus the fruit, decorations and ice. Napkins, straws and stirrers too.
- Games during the class and a team cocktail-off at the end.
- A starting price of £25 per person for groups of 10 or more. Smaller groups pay as ten and share what’s left over.
Clifftop houses, sea-view flats and hotels
Big hen houses in Bournemouth are mostly detached places on the East Cliff and West Cliff, in Southbourne and Boscombe, and back from the sea in Charminster. They usually have a drive, which solves parking, and a large kitchen-diner, which solves most other things.
Sea-view apartments are a different proposition. Upper floors, a shared entrance and residents-only parking are common, so tell us the floor, the door code and where a visitor can leave a car. In high summer the spaces near the seafront go early, and a private one matters more than usual.
Plenty of groups use the hotels along the clifftops instead. A class in a hotel room needs the hotel’s agreement, so ask them first. Whatever the building, the mixologist needs a private room to change in.
Poole, Christchurch and how far we travel
We travel along the coast in both directions and inland as well. That includes Poole, Sandbanks, Christchurch, Highcliffe, Ferndown, Wimborne, Verwood, Ringwood and New Milton.
Weymouth, Salisbury and Southampton are places we go to as well. The instant quote will show what the class costs at your postcode.
Beach first, town later
A four or five o’clock class leaves the day free for the beach and the evening free for town. Old Christchurch Road and the Triangle are where most of the late bars are, with Westbourne and Ashley Cross the quieter options for dinner and drinks. Allow extra time for taxis on summer Saturdays.
If you’d like someone to look after the group while the cocktails are being made, a two-hour butler booking is priced from £175. He meets guests at the door, serves drinks, gets into the photos and takes charge of the games.

Bournemouth Cocktail Class: Quick Answers
Can we do the class on the beach?
No. A beach is neither private nor out of public view, and the class has to be both. Your house, flat or hotel room is the place for it.
Our hotel is on the East Cliff. Can the mixologist come to our room?
Yes, if the hotel gives permission. Ask them before you book, and check there’s somewhere to park and unload.
We’re staying in afterwards for a barbecue. Do you supply drinks for the rest of the evening?
No. The class covers the three cocktails each that you make. Anything after that is yours to buy, so do a supermarket run beforehand.
