Hen Party Cocktail Class Cardiff
On an international day Cardiff changes shape. The Principality Stadium sits in the middle of the city, the streets around it close, and St Mary Street is shoulder to shoulder by lunchtime. A hen group with a class booked at the apartment gets the first drinks of the day sitting down.
The class, question by question
| You might ask | Answer |
|---|---|
| How long is it? | Two hours, and you get all of it even if the start slips |
| How many drinks? | Three each, made by you with the mixologist’s help |
| Who’s in charge? | One professional mixologist, clothed or in butler uniform, as you prefer |
| What turns up? | Spirits, mixers, kit, glasses, fruit, decorations, ice and sundries |
| What’s the format? | Cocktail making with games, ending in a team contest for the best one |
| What does it cost? | From £35 per person; groups under 10 pay for 10 and share the extra drinks |
Bay apartments, Cathays terraces and stadium road closures
Cardiff’s hen accommodation comes in three sorts: apartments in the city centre or down at Cardiff Bay, terraced houses in Cathays and Roath, and larger houses in Pontcanna and Canton. Apartment blocks usually mean a locked lobby and a lift, so pass on the flat number and entry details. Terraced streets in Cathays are mostly permit parking, so check where a visitor can stop.
Match days need more thought. When Wales are at home, or there’s a concert at the stadium, the streets around it are closed to traffic for several hours. A class in a city-centre flat on those days should be timed well clear of kick-off, and the mixologist will need to know the nearest place they can stop. The Bay and the suburbs are simpler. In any of them, the room must be private and the owner must have agreed.
From Penarth to Pontypridd: where we travel
The mixologist drives to you across Cardiff, the Vale and the Valleys. Penarth, Dinas Powys, Barry, Radyr, Caerphilly, Llantrisant, Pontypridd, Cowbridge and Newport are all in.
So are Porthcawl, Swansea and cottages up in the Brecon Beacons. The instant quote asks for the postcode and returns the price for it.

After the last shaker goes down
Wrap up by six or so and you’re well placed for Mill Lane, St Mary Street and Womanby Street, or for the bars and restaurants around Mermaid Quay if you’re staying at the Bay.
For a host who stays in the room with you, there’s the butler add-on, which starts at £150 and lasts two hours. He’ll welcome people, hand round the cocktails, join in the photos and run games.

Cardiff Cocktail Class: Quick Answers
It’s a Six Nations weekend. Can the mixologist still get to a city-centre apartment?
Yes, with some planning. Tell us the nearest point outside the closed streets where they can park to unload, and keep your phone on for their call.
There’s a stadium concert that night and our taxi is booked for seven. Will we finish on time?
Leave more slack than that. A delayed mixologist still gives you the full two hours, so the class can end up to an hour after the planned finish.
The bride wants Espresso Martinis before the rugby. Can we pick the drinks?
Yes, with at least 14 days’ notice. An Espresso Martini is one of the drinks with a supplement, at £2.50 per cocktail.
