Hen Party Cocktail Class Chester
Chester’s calendar is built around the Roodee. On race days the city fills with suits and fascinators from late morning and the bars are packed. A cocktail class at your accommodation gives a hen group somewhere to start that doesn’t involve queuing three deep on Watergate Street.
The short version
- The class runs for two hours and each guest makes three cocktails.
- A professional mixologist leads it and helps as you go. They can dress normally or wear butler uniform (apron, collar and cuffs), and you pick when booking.
- Glasses, shakers and other equipment arrive with them, as do the alcohol and mixers, the ice, and the fruit and decorations for finishing the drinks. Napkins, straws and stirrers come too.
- Games run through the session, and the final round is a team competition for the best cocktail.
- It’s from £35 per person for a minimum of 10. Eight of you would pay for ten and drink for ten.
- Anyone taking part has to be 18 or over.
Townhouses inside the walls, barns outside them
Chester lets come in two kinds. In the city there are townhouses and apartments within the walls, Victorian terraces in Hoole near the station, and houses over the Old Dee Bridge in Handbridge. Further out there are converted barns and farmhouses across the Cheshire plain and just over the Welsh border.
Streets inside the walls are narrow, much of the centre is closed to traffic during the day, and some flats sit above the shops, reached by steps or a side passage. Tell us exactly where a car can stop and how to find the door. Barns are easier, with a yard to park in and usually a long farmhouse table. Wherever it is, you need the owner’s permission and a room that’s out of public view.
Cheshire and the Welsh border: what's in range
The class comes to you on either side of the border. Saltney, Broughton, Hawarden, Ellesmere Port, Tarvin, Tarporley, Frodsham, Mold and Wrexham are all places we go.
Llangollen, Nantwich and the coast at Llandudno are on the list too. For the price at your address, enter the postcode in the instant quote.

Fun & Friendly Class
Race days, evenings and adding a butler
If you’re going racing, a late-morning class makes a good warm-up before the walk down to the course. If you’re not, an early evening class keeps you indoors while the crowd comes back up into town, and you can head for Watergate Street, Bridge Street or Northgate Street afterwards. Meetings run from May to September.
A butler can be added from £150 for two hours to welcome guests, serve what you’ve made, pose for photos and host the games.
Drink requests and the rules on changes are on the full cocktail masterclass page.

Chester Cocktail Class: Quick Answers
We might swap weekends to avoid a race meeting. What does moving the date cost?
Changing the date costs £30, which includes a free change of time.
Our barn is over the border in Wales. Do you cover it?
Yes. We travel into North Wales. The barn’s postcode goes into the instant quote, which comes back with the price.
The flat is inside the walls and cars can’t reach the door in the daytime. What then?
Pick the closest point a vehicle can reach and let us know. Expect contact from the mixologist when they’re 5 to 10 minutes away, then a call from outside, so you can direct them in.
