Hen Party Cocktail Class Nottingham
Nottingham keeps its nightlife close together. The old lace warehouses of the Lace Market are now flats and serviced apartments, with Hockley’s bars a few minutes’ walk away, so a hen group can have drinks at home and be in a bar shortly afterwards without a taxi.
Two hours, start to finish
- Twenty to thirty minutes before the start, the mixologist arrives to set up. You’ll hear from them 5 to 10 minutes ahead and again from outside, which keeps it a surprise.
- The bar is laid out on your table. Spirits, mixers, shakers, glasses, fruit, decorations and ice all come with them.
- Everyone makes a first cocktail, with help at each step. Two more follow, with games in between.
- To finish, the group splits into teams and each one tries to make the best drink.
- Two hours after the start you’re done.
It costs from £35 per person and the minimum group is 10. A party of seven or eight pays for ten and gets ten people’s worth of cocktails to share. You choose at booking between a mixologist in normal clothes and one in butler uniform.
Lace Market flats, West Bridgford houses and getting to the door
City-centre groups usually book apartments in the Lace Market and around Hockley, many of them in former warehouses with a shared entrance, an entry phone and several flights of stairs or a small lift. Tell us the floor and the buzzer number. The streets there are narrow with very little parking, so find out where the mixologist can pull in.
Bigger groups often take a house across the river in West Bridgford, or in Beeston or Mapperley, where there’s a drive and a proper dining table. In both cases you need a private room and an owner or manager who is happy with it.
Places we travel to
The mixologist travels to you, in the city or out of it. West Bridgford, Beeston, Arnold, Carlton, Ruddington, Hucknall, Long Eaton, Ilkeston and Bingham are all on the map.
So are Newark, the lodges around Edwinstowe in Sherwood Forest, and Matlock over in Derbyshire. Give the instant quote the postcode and it will tell you the price.

Fun & Friendly Class
Out into Hockley afterwards
A class that ends at 7.30 leaves time to change and walk into Hockley or the Old Market Square. If you’re staying out in Beeston, the tram runs straight into the centre.
To keep someone on hand while you get ready, a butler can be booked alongside, from £150 for a two-hour session. He greets guests, serves the cocktails you’ve made, gets in the photos and hosts games.
The cocktail masterclass page covers drink choices and how changes to a booking work.

Nottingham Cocktail Class: Quick Answers
We’re in West Bridgford and there’s a match on at the City Ground. Will that cause problems?
Roads around the City Ground and Trent Bridge are slow before and after a game, and street parking is restricted. The mixologist needs somewhere to park and unload, so tell us if you have a drive.
Our apartment is on the fourth floor of an old warehouse with no lift. Can you manage that?
Yes. Tell us the floor so nobody is surprised, and make sure a car can stop near the entrance, since everything has to be carried up.
Does Goose Fair week change anything?
The fair is at the Forest Recreation Ground, north of the centre, around the start of October. A class in the Lace Market or West Bridgford isn’t affected beyond busier roads and trams, so keep your phone on for the mixologist’s call.
