Hen Party Cocktail Class Reading
Reading is a town people live in more than one they visit, so most hen parties here start in somebody’s kitchen in Caversham, Earley or Tilehurst. The exceptions are the groups who rent a house on the Thames, at Pangbourne, Sonning or Henley, and want an activity that doesn’t mean driving back into town. A mobile cocktail class covers both.
The class in six points
- A mixologist comes to you and runs the session for two hours.
- You each make three cocktails, so nobody is left watching.
- Spirits, mixers, glasses and equipment are provided, as are ice, fruit, decorations and the small stuff like straws and napkins.
- There are games, and the last of them is a team contest to make the best cocktail.
- The mixologist wears normal clothes or butler uniform, depending on what you asked for at booking.
- It’s priced from £35 per person with a minimum of 10. If you’re a group of eight, you pay for ten and get the drinks for ten.
Family homes, Thames-side lets and where to park
In town, the typical venue is a family home: Victorian terraces in Caversham and east Reading, 1930s semis in Tilehurst, newer estates in Lower Earley and Woodley. Terraced streets near the centre are often permit parking, so sort out a visitor permit or a neighbour’s drive in advance.
River houses raise different questions. Many are down private lanes or behind electric gates and go by a name instead of a number, so send clear directions and any gate code. The owner of a let has to agree to the class.
Up and down the Thames valley
We’ll come to an address in Reading or anywhere along the Thames valley. Caversham, Tilehurst, Woodley, Earley, Theale, Pangbourne, Twyford, Wokingham and Henley-on-Thames are all on our list.
Hungerford, Oxford and Winchester are on it as well, and the instant quote will give you a price once you put in the postcode.

Fun & Friendly Class
Festival weekend, regatta week and requests
Henley Royal Regatta, around the start of July, clogs the roads round Henley for most of a week. Reading Festival takes over the riverside site off Richfield Avenue across the August bank holiday, and traffic over Caversham Bridge slows right down. On either weekend, pick a start time with room to spare.
Otherwise the class slots in ahead of a meal by the Kennet at the Oracle or drinks on Friar Street. Drinks can be tailored if you tell us at least 14 days in advance. Pornstar Martinis and Espresso Martinis are £2.50 extra a cocktail, Long Island Iced Tea is £5 extra, and Mojitos and Pina Coladas are what you’ll get if you don’t ask.

Reading Cocktail Class: Quick Answers
We’ve rented a house in Henley for regatta week. Do you cover Henley?
Yes. Get the price for the house’s postcode from the instant quote, and give the mixologist good parking instructions, because the town is very busy that week.
We live five minutes from the festival site in Caversham. Will the mixologist get to us that weekend?
Yes, though the bridge will be slow. If they’re running late, keep the following hour free and don’t book a table too tightly. The class is never cut short.
Our rental at Pangbourne is down an unmarked private lane. How will the mixologist find it?
Send directions when you book and keep your phone on. Between 5 and 10 minutes before they arrive they’ll make contact, and they phone again from outside.
