Buff Butler Training Class

Please follow the below points, they are expected at every butler booking with no exceptions.

BOOKING PROCESS

  • Job confirmation texts are sent every Thursday before your event.

  • You’ll also get a reminder SMS the week before from our automated number — confirm ASAP to avoid being chased.

  • On the day, you’ll receive a check-in SMS — click to confirm your attendance.

  • After confirming, send the official SMS to the customer.

  • Do not call, WhatsApp, or write your own messages unless in emergency (e.g. poor signal).

  • All communication is via SMS only.

  • Only call the office on the day in case of an emergency.

GENERAL CONDUCT

  • No same-day cancellations – if within your first 5 jobs, this results in termination.

  • Never attend a job hungover.

  • No drinking, smoking, taking drugs, or eating while working.

  • No swearing, sexual behaviour, or rude language.

  • No phone use once inside – keep it away and silent.

  • Never stay past the booking time – even if asked.

  • Do not change times or swap jobs without permission.

  • Never send personal photos or details to customers.

  • Always be polite, helpful, and respectful.

GROOMING & APPEARANCE

  • Arrive showered, deodorant on, with clean and ironed clothes.

  • Neat hair – clean-shaven is optional but tidy appearance is essential.

  • No baby oil.

  • Bum does not need to be shaved.

  • No trainers or boots – black flip-flops only.

  • Full uniform must be worn:
    • Collar
    • Cuffs (with cufflinks)
    • Black bow tie
    • Apron (bum on show unless told otherwise)
    • Black/dark flip-flops

  • Some bookings may request:
    • Tight black boxers
    • Formal black trousers and shoes

  • Customers may bring props (e.g. hats, accessories).

ARRIVING AT THE JOB

  • Always arrive 15 minutes early.

  • Meet outside if working with another butler and go in together.

  • Do not knock – text or call only when outside.

  • If lost, ask the customer to share live location (WhatsApp).

  • You’ll be given a private room to change – no customer items allowed inside.

  • Greet the organiser and the group clearly and politely.

  • Smile, be engaging and confident from the start.

JOB DUTIES

  • Serve drinks and top up glasses.

  • Wash and clear up as needed – including empty glasses.

  • Know how to make simple cocktails (e.g. Mojito, Sex on the Beach).

  • Be able to pour Prosecco without it spilling over.

  • Play fun games – check out our Hen Party Games.

  • Make time for all guests and make it fun.

  • Maintain professionalism and keep energy high.

PAY STRUCTURE

Butlers

  • 1 hour – £60
  • 2 hours – £90
  • 3 hours – £120
  • Additional hours – £20 per hour
    +£5 bonus available based on positive customer feedback

Life Drawing

  • £110 flat rate
  • +£5 bonus available based on positive customer feedback

Cocktail Mixologist

  • £140 flat rate
    +£5 bonus available based on positive customer feedback

Strippers

  • £110 flat rate
    +£5 bonus available based on positive customer feedback

Travel Allowance

  • 30p per mile (only applicable after the first 20 miles round trip from your home postcode)

PAYMENT

  • Paid directly to your bank account.

  • Tuesday following the weekend of your booking, usually around 8 days later depending on the date of the job.

  • To qualify for payment, you must:
    • Confirm your job
    • Send the official SMS to the customer

JOB OPPORTUNITIES & TRAINING

  • Training jobs are assigned close to your home – you’ll be sent available options.

  • Consistent and reliable butlers are offered more work.

  • You can progress into:
    • Life Drawing Model roles
    • Cocktail Masterclasses

REFERRAL BONUS & REWARDS

  • Refer a friend:
    • £50 bonus after they complete 3 jobs
    • Extra £50 after they do 6 jobs with no issues

  • Loyalty bonus:
    • £25 once you complete 10 jobs with no complaints

  • Feedback forms are collected after every job
    • Top-rated butlers appear on our UK leaderboard
    • Rewards, prizes, competitions available

  • We are the largest company in the world for this service – more jobs than any other provider.

  • Best opportunities are given to butlers who exclusively work with us.

SELF-EMPLOYED STATUS

  • You are self-employed – not an employee.

  • You’re responsible for your own tax and NI.

  • You can decline jobs, but once you accept one – full commitment is expected.

  • No-shows or same-day cancellations may lead to termination.

  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK and, if applicable, hold a valid visa or immigration status that permits self-employment.
    You will be required to provide either a valid share code (from www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work) or appropriate documentation confirming your right to work.

TRAINING & FEEDBACK

  • Once you are signed up and completed your training job, you will receive full access to the staff portal.

  • Your first training job will be arranged as close to your home as possible – we’ll send you available options to choose from.

  • After each job, customers are asked to complete a feedback form.

  • We have a UK-wide leaderboard ranking our top-performing butlers based on reviews and reliability.

  • Bonuses, rewards, and competitions are run throughout the year for high-performing staff.

NO TOUCHING POLICY

  • We have a strict no-touching policy both ways — general touching during games is fine.

  • If you are inappropriately touched multiple times and feel uncomfortable, inform the organiser.

  • If it continues, you may leave and MUST report this to the office immediately.

  • Use this phrase: “I’m sorry that’s not what I’m here for.”

  • Incidents are rare, but we take them seriously.
